January 16th, 2021    •  by Bethia    •   1 Comment »

An A-Z of Central Ohio Restaurants. Inspired by a post on the Support Central Ohio Restaurant Group on Facebook we decided to try making an A-Z list of Central Ohio restaurants. We managed to complete all 26 letters and thought we’d share our list in case it inspires you to try somewhere new, or if like the original poster you want to challenge yourself to try a restaurant from every letter! Please bear in mind that this is not intended to be a comprehensive list of every restaurant in Central Ohio. No doubt there are many restaurants we forgot but […]

Service Bar 2020 may have put a dent in your travel plans, but Service Bar hopes to make up for it with their multi-course “Around the World” dinner for two that is inspired by new year celebrations that don’t occur on January 1st. Their five-course dinner includes a shrimp tostada, crab jahl masala, duck gnocchi, kalbi short […]

December 16th, 2020    •  by Bethia    •   No Comments »

Trust Fall 2020 Restaurants We’re taking a 2 week hiatus from Trust Fall over the weeks of Christmas and New Years, but rest assured that we’ll return in January with more great restaurants, a few new weekend brunches, and an additional surprise or two down the line. We’re humbled by this response to our seemingly off-the-wall idea, and thrilled to be able to support so many restaurants in this manner. During our break, we’d like to gently […]

Till

April 17th, 2012    •  by Andy    •   5 Comments »

Before there was Till, there was Dragonfly. Dragonfly was among the most widely acknowledged and awarded restaurant in Columbus. It’s chef, Magdiale Wolmark, was twice a Beard award nominee and inarguably recognized as a true innovator in the preparation of vegan cuisine. It would’ve been easy to assume that a national reputation for haute vegan would stand as Chef Wolmark’s legacy. And yet, I just polished off one of Chef Wolmark’s tongue, anchovy and vacheron pizzas and had his burger last week. You see, over a period of a couple of weeks around the new year, the owners of Dragonfly […]

The spring Dine Originals week kicks off tomorrow and, as usual, there are plenty of great dining options for value seekers and thrill seekers alike. 10 Most Underrated Food Experiences of 2011

January 3rd, 2012    •  by Andy    •   8 Comments »

I’ll admit to a bit of discomfort with 10-best lists, and never more so than when restaurants are the subject. After all, what makes for a great restaurant? Is it the meticulous service, impeccable culinary technique, tremendous wine list and exceptional ambience found at places like The Refectory? Or, is it the straightforward pleasure of biting into a big pile of what may well be the best al pastor east of the Mississippi while sitting on a bar stool outside at Los Guachos? How do you reconcile an exceptional $100/person restaurant experience with what could legitimately be seen to be an equally […]
