If you’re trying to figure out where to go for dinner, want to outsource dessert, or just aren’t up for cooking the whole feast from scratch, this year there are more options than ever before. Below we’ve created a list of purveyors with Thanksgiving offerings and have organized them into the following categories: dine in, prepared carryout meals, turkeys both cooked and uncooked, and pies and baked goods. Please feel free […]

An A-Z of Central Ohio Restaurants. Inspired by a post on the Support Central Ohio Restaurant Group on Facebook we decided to try making an A-Z list of Central Ohio restaurants. We managed to complete all 26 letters and thought we’d share our list in case it inspires you to try somewhere new, or if like the original poster you want to challenge yourself to try a restaurant from every letter! Please bear in mind that this is not intended to be a comprehensive list of every restaurant in Central Ohio. No doubt there are many restaurants we forgot but […]

Columbus Happy Hours for Foodies

March 15th, 2011    •  by Bethia    •   13 Comments »

There are a multitude of places that you can get a cheap happy hour martini or discounted draft beer, but perhaps even more interesting are the restaurants that offer great deals on quality happy hour dining in addition to the drink deals. We’ve spent a few weeks looking into these, and here are some of our favorites: Rigsby’s Kitchen Rigsby’s most well known happy hour is their Monday $1 oyster special but they also have a fantastic bar menu. Although happy hour for drinks runs until 7pm, the Rigsby’s bar menu is served all day Monday-Saturday and until midnight on […]

December 11th, 2010    •  by Bethia    •   10 Comments »

‘Tis the season of good cheer, and parties and sparkles, so what better time to indulge in a cocktail or two? Columbus has seen a resurgence of interest in classic cocktails this year and that, combined with some creative and talented mixologists, means that there is no shortage of interesting places to imbibe. This list is by no means exhaustive but includes some of my favorite places to sip on a mixed drink.

Virtual Tour – Italian Columbus

October 15th, 2010    •  by Bethia    •   No Comments »

The Italian Festival got me thinking about Italian food in Columbus and musing on ideas for a tour. While Columbus doesn’t have a Little Italy we do have some great Italian restaurants and food purveyors scattered around the city. Our tour would start, appropriately in Italian Village with an espresso or a cappuccino at Cafe del Mundo to fortify us for our tour. Tucked just north and almost under 670, Cafe del Mundo also serves lunchtime pasta dishes, stromboli and paninis. Next would be a quick stop at the North Market to visit Pastaria and admire their colorful array of […]

Short North Standbys

August 1st, 2009    •  by Bethia    •   5 Comments »

The Short North has great options for eating and drinking at all times of the day and night. Here are some highlights and some of my personal favorites: Rigsby’s Kitchen is somewhere to go for lunch when you want to be able to hear your lunch companion and have excellent food and service. It would be a perfect venue for a lunch meeting and seating is always immediate. Although Rigsby’s can be an expensive choice for dinner, they are excellent value for lunch, particularly the blue plate special, where you get soup or a salad and half a sandwich or […]
