We’ve been really gratified at the reception that Trust Fall has received; we served our 1000th meal this week! It’s clear that there’s a demand for fun food experiences that you can have in the comfort of your own home. Some of our friends and partners are also offering special experiences and meals that are available as carry out so we thought we’d compile a list for you. Because things change quickly at the moment social media is a great place to find updates from restaurants and please fee free to let us know if you’ve discovered any that we missed.

Bonifacio are now offering their popular Boodle Night‘s as an at home dining experience for 2 people. Spread out your banana leaves, wash your hands and dig in to this fun communal experience.

Service Bar have been cooking up some fun family meals (we enjoyed their Middle-West BBQ meal kit for Father’s Day) and their specials change weekly. You never know what they’ll be up to next! Check out their Secret Kitchen Menu on Instagram to see what’s new. Carry out menu is here.

Ambrose & Eve are becoming known for their Fried Chicken Fridays and they usually sell out. Book on Wednesdays (11am-4pm) for Friday evening pick up. You can order fried chicken (or chicken fried cauliflower) for 1, 2 or 4 people as well as Dough Mama pie by the slice and cocktails to go. More details on their Instagram.

Speaking of fried chicken, and if you can’t wait until next Friday, Hot Chicken Takeover is now offering summer family packs which serve 4-5 people. On Monday’s they have their Not-Chicken special and on weekends their waffles.

Ajumama has been offering a weekly family meal menu that is available for pick up from the Food Fort on Fridays and Saturdays. Each week there’s a different theme and dishes offered but one staple are the make-at-home hodduk kit. Other than that it could be Korean fried chicken, make your own burrito or a selection of her Dad’s favorites. Sign up for her mailing list to get the weekly menu. Ajumama also has the most impressive contact-less system we’ve experienced.

The Refectory has been featuring ‘The Home Dinner Menu’ since the early days of lock down. Now they’ve added ‘The Picnic Menu’ and both are available for curbside pick up Tuesday-Saturday. They’ve also transformed their dinner music series into a virtual dinner music series, with free live concerts hosted on their facebook page. The next one is Friday August 7th at 7pm.

For the next couple of weeks Comune is offering a limited quantity of take-out dinner kits. Each weekend is a different feature. Profits are being donated to local organizations supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. See their website or Instagram for more details.

We’ve been so impressed by the creativity and hustle of so many small businesses adapting to the challenges of 2020, but no more so than The Kitchen who have pivoted their participatory dining and Taco Tuesdays to the stay-at-home world. Check out their website for at-home meal kits, Taco Tuesday, curbside booze, prepared meals and cheese boards.

There are few good things to come out of the COVID-19 restrictions, but I think we can agree that beer delivery and cocktails to go are things we can be thankful of. In addition to the restaurants already mentioned check out the cocktail (and wine) offerings from The Bottle Shop and Law Bird. Want to mix your own? The Market Italian Village is offering Market Boxes (available for delivery) including cocktail kits, charcuterie kits and wine selections.
