Local ice-cream legend (and valued Columbus Food Adventures partner) Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is opening their newest location in Clintonville on October 1st!

And, it’s not just any Jeni’s – in addition to everything that makes any Jeni’s store an instant neighborhood hotspot, this location also includes the additions of freshly brewed Stauf’s coffee and –  oooh yeah – a sundae bar.

Aaaand… because all of that by itself just wouldn’t be quite cool enough, the interior of their new space will be built using reclaimed wood from a 100 year old Knox county barn.

Their new shop is located at 4247 N. High St., which is just two doors down from Northstar. Expect a significant uptick in half-eaten veggie burgers as Northstar customers save space for treats from their new neighbor.

In related news, tonight (9/23/10) at 9:00pm,  Jeni’s will be featured on the Food Network show ‘America’s Best: Top 10 Sweets’.

Last but not least… while we imagine that the vast majority of our readers are more than familiar with Jeni’s already, we’d be remiss in not mentioning that they are also a much-loved stop on our Short North tour.
