Columbus Underground, our city’s premier online forum for discussion of all things Columbus, has lately been abuzz about the growing mobile food vending scene. Never one to miss a trend, Walker Evans, the site’s owner and operator, took a poll asking the CU brain trust to share their favorite food carts and/or trucks.
The results are in, and we think they do our city proud. Ray Ray’s Hog Pit deservingly took top spot (their brisket is not to be missed), and Foodie Cart’s wildly imaginative Japanese crepes gave them a well-earned second spot.
Also placing well were two of our personal taco truck favorites – Los Potosinos and Los Guachos. Frankly, if these trucks were more centrally located, and therefore more accessible, I could imagine them coming in even higher – the food is that good (check out the effusive customer comments at the links).
Both of those taco trucks are valued and popular stops on our taco truck tour which has been far and away our most popular tour, and is set to retire (until next spring) at the end of October. These tours occur ever Wednesday and Friday starting at 6:30pm. To look at dates, or to purchase tickets click here.
Also in the spring, we hope to offer a new mobile food vendor tour. As we said, there are some great things going on in town above and beyond taco trucks, and we’re eager to share them with you. In the meantime check out our blog Streeteats Columbus
