beer history tour columbus

The historic Brewery District is where beer began in Columbus – join us to explore it, while enjoying some of the best local brews made today!

On this food and adult beverage tour of the neighborhood, we shine a light on the fascinating brewing history represented by its stately brick buildings, and sample a nice variety of local beers. Between pours and bites we’ll recall the era of local Beer Barons from the hey-day of the 1890′s to the dog days of Prohibition, and toast the men and women that have made the Brewery District what it is, from the Hosters and Wagners to the Schlees.

This tour is priced at $76 which includes tastings of a variety of beers and/or snacks at five businesses, as well as a guide with extensive local history knowledge and craft beverage expertise. This walking tour lasts approximately 3 hours and involves a leisurely one mile stroll.

Please note, while we sample local craft beer at some stops on this tour, there are no breweries on this tour (the name comes from the pre prohibition legacy of the area, not the activity of today). Please note that this tour comprises a mix of food and beer stops and participants must be 21 years of age to attend.

The Brewery District Walking Tour is offered March to November on Saturday afternoons. Please check the tour calendar for available dates. If you would like to be wait listed for a tour date that is sold out please email waitlist@columbusfoodadventures.com

This tour is for guests 21 and older. We are able to accommodate vegetarians with advance notice. We are unable to accommodate other dietary restrictions.
